Dr. Carol Macmillan is a tenured Associate Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics
in the College of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). She is
the Director of the UIC Division of Pediatric Neurology, and consults for the State
of Illinois Division of Specialized Care for Children. Dr Macmillan is the Co -
director of the UIC Center for Learning and Neurodevelopment, where she sees patients
with suspected autism spectrum and developmental disorders with Dr Lisa Stanford.
She has participated in the Women and Infants Transmission Study, an NIH funded
multicenter study of the effects of HIV infection on women and their exposed and
infected infants, many of whom are also exposed to drugs of abuse. Dr Macmillan
's work includes investigations of the effects of HIV and drug exposure on neurodevelopment,
as well as on autism and other developmental and neurogenetic disorders. |
