Dr. Gibbons is Director of the Center for Health Statistics at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). He is a statistician with interests in non-linear mixed-effects models, item response theory, environmental regulatory statistics, laboratory calibration, and statistical issues in health services research. He is a fellow of the American Statistical Association and is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. With colleagues in his Center, he is developing novel statistical strategies for the analysis of fMRI time series data.
